Carpet stains plague homeowners and renters alike. A spilled coffee or splattered spaghetti sauce can make rugs and carpets a giant eyesore, and covering them only hides the mess. Grab some high-efficiency powdered detergent and warm water. Rub the mixture into any carpet stains with a scrub brush using consistent pressure. Rinse any remaining residue with clean water and watch the stain disappear.

2. Washing the Outdoor Deck

Use a stiff-bristled deck brush and your mixture to scrub away any stains and spray clean. Protect any plants from exposure to the mixture.
